Ep61 - FREE UNI FOR TEACHERS

Dan Andrews has announced if you study secondary teaching, it's completely free! As you can imagine the boys have a fair bit to say about this.  STRAP IN.
We also read out some ripper instagram msgs and Ben tries to keep B-ry on track as he goes on a passionate rant about how undervalued teacher aides are.

Ep60 - BEN’S SCHOOLING

We're still at Teacher Yarns headquarters and B-ry had the genius idea to ask Ben about his schooling. 
From crying because he couldn't skip in prep to wagging school and bum puffing joints in grade 12.  It's a real waltz down memory lane starting as a RAAF brat to grade 12 class clown.
Shoutout to Ben's grade 4 teacher Mrs Bergheim who we found out after the podcast had passed away a few years earlier.

Ep59 - TEACHER STRIKES

B-ry picked Ben up from Sunshine Coast airport and they've raced straight home to do a face to face episode in the "Teacher Yarns Studio."  
The boys talk about the teacher strikes currently happening in SA. Teachers are demanding a pay increase AND a solution to the current workloads and complex classes.  
They also discuss an amazing study on praising kids intellectual achievements VS effort. The results were amazing.

Ep58 - TEACHING TO THE A STANDARD

B-ry has got a gripe. SHOCK... He read a couple of sentences in an article that some education big wig wrote about how teachers should all be teaching to the A standard and decided he'd weigh in.
We also read out some emails and messages (WE LOVE THEM) and thank you so much for sending them in.
Keep the yarns coming. We bloody love reading them and depending on how many we get next week we may even look at making some TEACHER YARNS merch. Woohoo xo

Ep57 - MEET NICO

Nicola Bernardi is an incredible, self-taught photographer with a love of languages.
All the way from Milan, Italy he is one of Ben's best mates and B-ry's adopted son. We absolutely loved having a yarn with him and it's great to have him back in the country.
We talk about his schooling (5 person primary school) and how schooling works in Italy and B-ry gets huffy puffy over technology.

Ep56 - MEET ”LADY DI”

"Lady Di" is a primary school teacher at a catholic school and a friend of Carmel's. (B-ry's better half)
She studied teaching as a mature aged student but claims she wasn't one of the annoying ones. 
Had a lovely yarn with her, thanks for coming in and chatting "Lady Di."

Bron Lewis is an incredible comedian and another ex-teacher! 
We talk about her time at school, private vs public school and B-ry goes on a rant about The Voice and Gay Marriage. LOL.

Hold the bloody phone, Teacher Yarns has made it onto NATIONAL RADIO!!! B-ry heard the amazing Sue-Belinda Meehan on ABC radio, (Every Monday 3-3:30) and decided to call for a chat. 
Did he plug our podcast, TEACHER YARNS? Yes and no... Find out what happened on this weeks episode.

Ep53 - MEET OSCAR

Oscar Reading joins B-ry and Ben for a ripper yarn about growing up in Wee Jasper and attending a school of 12 students out in country NSW.
We talk about getting smacked as a student, theatre dorks and how Oscar went from growing up on a farm to an award winning writer and actor.

Ep52 - MEET ROGER AND RHIANNON

B-ry got drunk at a wedding and invited our two guests to come on the podcast and we're so happy he did cause it's a bloody ripper. (He almost had a conniption trying to get the gear to work but we got there in the end.)
Roger is an ex teacher, ex diamond driller, ex bloody everything with yarns galore. Rhiannon is his daughter, an old mate of Ben's from back in Mooloolaba and is now a super mum and comedian!
